Saffron During Pregnancy First Trimester?

New moms to be, during your first trimester you should avoid saffron intake. Let it be saffron milk or saffron in the food you should avoid eating saffron. However, it is safe to avoid saffron in the first trimester. Ayurveda suggests this consumption of saffron can only be started after the fourth month or fifth month of pregnancy. Once the mother starts feeling the movement of the baby.

Can I Eat Kesar in Early Pregnancy?

In early pregnancy, you should avoid eating kesar. And also make sure to avoid saffron in the first trimester.

1st Trimester: Eating Kesar to be avoided in pregnancy during following weeks and Months

01-04 Weeks: In the first month of pregnancy (1 month)
05 – 08 Weeks: In the second month of pregnancy (2 months)
09 – 13 Weeks: In the third month of pregnancy (3 months)

2nd Trimester: Eating Kesar to be avoided in pregnancy during following week

14 – 17 Weeks : The Fourth month of pregnancy (4 months)

Saffron During Pregnancy Second Trimester?

Yes, from the second trimester you can start intake of saffron during pregnancy. That is from your 5th month of pregnancy.  It is recommended for its health benefits to ensure proper growth and development of the baby in the womb. I have shared in details below

Eating Kesar from the 5th month of Pregnancy is safe

From 5th month you can start eating saffron. You can continue eating Kesar till your due date that is the Third Trimester.

2nd Trimester : Eating Kesar is safe from 5th month of pregnancy till EDD

18-21 weeks: Fifth month of pregnancy (5 months)
22-26 weeks: Sixth month of pregnancy (6 months)

  • You can start drinking saffron milk r from the 5th month of your pregnancy.
  • During pregnancy 3 to 4 threads of saffron can be used.
  • Saffron with milk should be soaked for the whole night and the next day morning you can drink it.
  • Make sure to eat 4 to 5 almonds and after 10 mins you can drink the milk.
  • No need to add sugar into the saffron milk.
  • Make sure to use saffron with milk only on alternate days during pregnancy.
  • If you’re adding into food then also make sure to use it in limit.
  • Kesar with Milk is highly effective when taken in the morning. So, make sure to drink alternative days only.

Saffron During Pregnancy Third Trimester?

Once you start saffron from the 5th month of pregnancy you can use it till your due date.

  • Just always remember to use saffron only on alternate days during pregnancy.
  • If you’re adding into food then also make sure to use it in limit.
  • You can use Saffron in the 8th month of pregnancy and also you can use Saffron in the 9th month of pregnancy.

Eating Kesar is safe from 5th month to due date during pregnancy

You can continue eating Kesar from 5th month and till your due date that is the Third Trimester.

3rd Trimester :Eating Kesar is safe from 5th month and till Due  Date

27-30 weeks: Seventh month of pregnancy (7 months)
31-35 weeks: Eighth month of pregnancy (8 months)
36-40 weeks: Ninth month of pregnancy (9 months)

Saffron During Pregnancy for Fair Baby?

The Baby’s skin color is Genetic. I can just say that your baby’s complexion depends purely on you and your husband’s genes. And I guess the complexion should not matter.

You should plan for a healthy pregnancy because the baby is one of the most precious gifts for a family.

During pregnancy, saffron is used for its health benefits. Many pregnant women suffer from severe morning sicknesses like nausea and dizziness. So, it’s advised to consume Saffron to get rid of morning sickness during pregnancy.

If you’re unable to drink saffron milk in the morning then you can also drink Saffron-infused tea. Saffron-infused tea might help you to reduce nausea and dizziness. Just remember each and every pregnancy body is different, so has each pregnancy is different.  My suggestion might help you and may not.

How to Prepare Saffron Milk for Pregnant Ladies?

Start from your fifth month of pregnancy that is the second trimester. Make sure to drink alternative days only.

Saffron Milk Recipe : 

Step 1: Bring milk to a boil
Step 2: Then add little milk in a small cup
Step 3: Add 3 to 4 Saffron strands and mix well until you notice the color changing to light yellow
Step 4: Then add into one cup hot milk and mix well. Let it cool down and after that close with a lid. (Let is get soaked into milk for 4 hours to 8 hours)
Step 5: Drink saffron milk in the morning after eating 3 to 4 almonds.
